Conventional wisdom is to favor the CC, as that's the *main* horn most tubists use for most things.
In my situation, I play almost exclusively in a quartet and a quintet, and only occasionally in a larger ensemble. So, I ended up spending more money on a recent F tuba upgrade, and used the "leftover" cash for a less expensive CC.
Typically, this would not be the best approach, but it seemed better for me to do it that way, due to my specific situation.
