I tried several mouthpieces. My standard mouthpiece for my York is a Doug Elliott 2N 132/T6, which is a toilet bowl compared to a Conn. I used this mouthpiece for trying them all. I really liked one, and was unmoved by the other two. This same mouthpiece works find on my uncle's 1241, which has a warm, singing quality that the satin 2341 didn't seem to have.

There WERE instruments I played the same day as the new 2341 that I liked much better, including a Miraphone 181 F tuba, a Willson 3100 BBb, a Getzen G-50 CC, and a 4/4 Rudy Meinl rotary CC. Those choices seem to surround the King in instrument type, and they all gave me warm fuzzy feelings with whatever mouthpiece I put in them.
