The Tuba Trap - is that the set of lines that includes something about the Tuba being the most important instrument in the band, that the bass is the bridge between the rythm section and the melody and neither will work without it...etc.,etc.
I was lucky - my band conductor honestly believed that the tuba was most important (he is a piano, trumpet, and valve trombone guy by trade) and acted accordingly.
