That will get what you're after in focus of that large beast. After discussion with Tony Clements thats what Dick Ackright did with my .890 bore kaiser BBflat years ago, and the enhanced "core" (your word) was notice-able enough that the change eventually found its way to all of the rotary tubas from Waldkraiberg (by way of TC and the M-fone distributor then in SoCal)
