I have some favorable comments on the 182 in George B's thread of a few days ago on small BB flat horns and I concur, as a user, with everything Charlie Krause has said here. This is not a scaled down version of the 186 like, I think, the MW 18 is of the MW 25. The bore on the 182 (.770 - .800) is the same or even larger than the 186 or the MW 25. The straight shot, short lead pipe on the 182 is very rare, if not unique, for rotary valve horns. Third line D played open is right on. Same for the octave higher D. C,B,F and E below the staff are not surprisingly sharp when played using 1 and 3, but clear up easily by using 4 with the 4 tuning slide pulled about an inch. I like this horn.
