First, I agree with all the posts below. If it's not your student and you don't have $5,000.00 or so dollars to burn, then in the words of John Clease (sp), "Runaway, Runaway!"

But, if the local (or "loco") tuba teacher feels this student really needs help, then maybe the teacher can buy the horn from you and rent it to the student. Or, maybe the teacher can co-sign a loan for it. (Actually, my teacher did this for me when I was in college, what an amazing man! And it was a 188.) But let him take the risk.

Regardless, you are nice to even consider this, but I don't think it would really be in anyone involved's best interest for you to basically loan out your horn to someone you don't know.

Just my opinion. Good luck selling the horn.
