I know Yamaha makes a student trombone that is pitched in C but then lowered to Bb using an "always on" one-step rotary valve. I also seem to recall seeing this done by other manufacturers as well, but I'm not certain. And don't forget about alto trombones in Eb and soprano trombones in Bb...
