I was just thinking... I was practicing last night with a friend of mine who happens to be a senior in high school. He is an awesome player, and although I am old, I learn a lot from sitting down with him. He is in our all-state orchestra, as was i my senior year. difference is, he plays CC, and I played BBb. This was like ten years ago that i was in the group, and reading all the threads has made me wonder... when was it that the current push towards CC contrabass really hit? Has it always been that way? I didn't start playing CC until very late, and even now have only played it for about 3 years. I am just wondering, because i was out of the loop in high school and even college. With so many young kids starting on bass tuba even in high school, I was just curious as to if this has moved in phases?
