So, to summarize, it looks like you should try the following horns if at all possible:
1. Besson 983
2. PT F tubas
3. Yamaha F tubas
4. MW 182 and 45SLP (a horn that receives frequent praise here)
5. Miraphone 182 (I think thats it, it's a small F that is supposes to have a beautiful sound)
6. The Rudolf Meinl F tubas (my favorites at the moment)
7. Any other horns you've had your eyes on or that you teacher has suggested.
Then, after playing these 10+ horns, simply choose your favorite, find it used for a good price and in good condition, purchase, and practice.
Easy, huh?
