I would like to take a moment to thank Geoff Gould, the ex-satellite engineer and pioneer of the use of composites who founded Modulus Graphite and introduced the use of carbon-fiber composites to the musical world. Whether or not carbon-fiber wind instrument parts ever make it big, his contribution to the world of string instruments was gigantic and lasting.
