I "relayed" this recipe verbatim from the back of a booklet about Mr. Bell entitled "Welcome, Music Lovers!", compiled by Kate Hawkins. Mrs. Hawkins notes that this is the recipe exactly as he gave it. I would imagine that we're talking about a large stock-pot and probably enough onions to cover the bottom of the pot. Perhaps one of Mr. Bell's former students can elaborate. This recipe was concocted long before we became "health conscious"....has anyone ever experienced this soup? Perhaps someone will "whomp up a batch".
