the group I play in, Metropolitan Winds plays alot of movie music that has been transcribed for band and it is great music done by Randol Bass. Most movie transcriptions are not that good and actually stink in the way they are orchestrated. They are usually thin and the parts are easy to sell to middle schools so they can sell them and make money.

I do not know if he can sell them to other bands but he has a publisihing company he works through and it is on his website listed in the link. We just did Casey at the Bat which he did for the Marine Band. He writes for Dallas, Boston, Cleveland and LA Phils and Orchestras.

I love playing them. After a 1:45 min concert i honestly feel totally worked out. I know theses are not classics but great pieces worth playing.

Check out our website www.metropolitan-winds.com and the link to Randol's company.
