I know this thread started a week or so ago, but I wanted to revisit it and ask if anyone has removed a leather arm guard from their horn and found really strange tarnish, HOW did you clean it off? I have a nickel-plated ("german silver"?) horn that I want to clean up and the schmutz from a leather arm-guard is all dull and grey and nasty-looking. I tried some Hagerty's and it got the dirt on the surface, but I am not sure if I want to use a wheel and polish or if the nickel's been stained deep or what. ANYone with experience like this? If so, what did you do?
