One other thing you might consider is that different alloys may require slightly different techniques in order to shape them. This could result in different kinds of stresses in different places between identical design/different alloy instruments.
Also, some alloys may form more(or less) tightly to the same bell mandrel(for example) resulting in very slight variations in shape.

These kinds of variables are difficult if not impossible to measure and their effects will vary from craftsman to craftsman and design to design.
