I know someone posted a question about this disc a little while ago. I checked out Mike Davis' site, listened to the sound clips and immediately ordered it. Personally, I think it's great!! Tuba-wise, we've got Tommy Johnson, Warren Deck, Gene Pokorny, Sam Pilafian and Marcus Rojas - what a line-up! The rest of the players are all totally top-drawer, and there are some really great, well-produced performances put down for posterity here. My personal favorite is "Bilbao", which features the Chicago Symphony brass section. Gene sounds amazing, and there are some nice little solos for him in the piece. The liner notes are very well done, and there are little pixx of all the players who participated.
