This is interesting, if true. The Fort Worth Symphony has been fund-raising and upgrading in the last few years, having gone from around 50 full-time musicians to 74 full-time musicians as of the current season. Don was a part-timer, with his main gig at North Texas. I wonder if the rumor, if true, is at all connected with this trend?

It's funny. Dallas is a better-sounding symphony, and with Litton has been more adventurous than in previous years, but for the years that I lived in Texas I thought Fort Worth always had more sense of adventure with programming. Dallas was always a bit too conservative, which is just the opposite of what you'd expect if you didn't live there.

But Dallas has been upgrading too, ever since moving into the Myerson.
