Interesting approach. Flutists also use circular breathing extensively. A couple of years ago I had occasion to attend a flute master class on circular breathing with my flutist daughter. It was given by Patty Monson, who said tuba players were the other major users of circular breathing, and that she'd discussed it at length with several she knew in the NYC area. What she had people do to understand the idea and begin to work on it was to put a straw in a glass of water and practice blowing bubbles into the water using the cheek air while breathing in. Seem to work pretty well as a teaching technique. My daughter got it right away, as did a few others, and she now incorporates circular breathing into her playing.
