Hi!
For me the best horns that I've played is the Rudy Meinl Piston valve CC. This horn has better response than most of the bass tubas that I've played, but it can still keep up with the volume needed to be heard in a larger group. The low register stays together really well, and the middle and upper register are easier to blow than most 4/4 CC's that I've played.
