You aren't even allowed to have batteries except for the D cell sized needed for your flashlight. Only books allowed are a bible and your soldier handbook which will be issued. Trust me, you aren't going to have time to read. You are busy from 0400-2100 and will spend any other possible time trying to find ways to sleep without getting busted.
