Hello,

I have been having terrible intonation problems. I currently play on a Yamaha 641 BBb 4 valve rotary. I have been using a Korg CA-20 tuner to try to allieviate some awful problems but when I pull out the first valve slide to compensate for the sharp 2nd space C, the Eb below the staff is terribly out of tune. The 3rd spcae E natural is very sharp but I cannot push the 2nd valve slide in any further and the Db flat below the staff suffers. I am out of ideas and it is too hard to lip it up or down for every other note. I am also having a great deal of trouble playing the Rochut etudes down two octaves in tune. I have tried alternate fingerings but to no avail. My low F's are too sharp and I have to play the Eb's and D#'s 1,2+4. I really need some help. By the way, this is an older horn (18 yrs old) and has seen better days. Should I just invest in a new CC ? Are CC's easier to keep in tune? Any brands that play well in tune? Hirsbrunner? Rudy? Miraphones? Thanks in advance...
