It's not a pro horn, but from your question I'd say you're not a pro (neither am I, though I make a little money playing from time to time). If you go into this with eyes open, it sounds like a pretty good deal. The age is not excessive -- there are plenty of horns this age (and twice this age) around. The price is superb for ANY BBb in 'near perfect condition'. You don't say if the valves are tight, but if it REALLY plays in tune, I'd wager they are; just keep in mind re-plating is about $300 for front valves, maybe $400 for top valves. With valves in good shape, you should be able to at least get your money back if ever decide you want to.

Now, all analysis aside: it sounds like you really LIKE the horn, like it makes you happy. I've heard it said that getting what you want isn't NEARLY as hard as figuring out what you want. If you know what you want, the hard part is done!!
