Tim, I too own one of these beautiful old tubas. Mine has the same emblem and the same dimensions and was made in 1903. Two or three letters have been written to the tuba journal(fall 1991) by fellows who hav found and restored these horns. I am having extensive repair work done on mine. According to one of these letters a horn with serial #26838 was made in 1905. These horns were built from c.1885 - 1917. They held a special patent and included aluminum in the brass alloy. My horn played beautifully even with the leedpipe practically crushed closed. I would be interested in hearing more about your horn and your plans for it. 570-322-2569
