The Russian rotary valve are very noise, but when replaced with the "German machine" the tuba performs quite nicely. Do disagree about playing characteristics. The St Pete has a big sound. Dark and full of body. Sounds like I'm sell you on a beer!!! I have no complaints about workmanship.
