My problem has been diagnosed as extreme pressure on the sciatic nerve!!!! The doctor suggested using some padding to equalize the pressure. Since my big horn's bottom bow covers so much more area, the nerve wasn't being affected, but the F is smaller, thus centralizing pressure on the nerve. The padding works great and I am back playing with no problems. BTW, I tried the prevailing tuba stands and felt too far removed from the horn. I like to the tuba close to my body, it balances better. Thanks for your input and concerns!!!!! Cheers.
