Okay, I have a quick and simple story for you.
This has been done in the professional world.
Did any of you watch the New Year's Eve celebration
on the Mall in DC (whether on TV or on location)?
John Williams conducted an orchestra (union, I believe)
that was played to a movie being shown on a huge screen
in front of them.
The orchestra just held their instruments and PRETENDED
to play. Because it was pre-recorded. It happens.
