Regarding Besson Ebs: I was just at the U.S. distributor in Il and was really disappointed. I played 4 983s and only found one that responded well. The only problem was the intonation on this one was TERRIBLE! I stopped at the Brasswind on the way home and played two more and one had intonation problems and the other had bubbling silver all inside the bell. I'm sure there are some good one out there, but I didn't find one. I did, however play some Yamaha horns I really did like. I almost took an F home, but stopped myself because I really need an Eb for brass band work.
