i bought a g50 as a senior in high school. when i was making the switch from b flat to c fingerings i found that the fifth valve really helped out. using the horn only in b flat a lot would be a mistake. the fifth valve makes the horn quit resistant to loud playing, especially up high. some things that i really like about the horn is its clarity and sound projection. it has a nice quality tuba sound, and for the price you pay, its a great horn. i hope this helps.
