I received the CD "Fanfares for the Uncommon Woman" by Joan Tower. There are 4 fanfares plus her "Concerto for Orchestra". She believes that symphony players are underrated in terms of ability and sets out to prove it. This is some of the most spectacular brass playing I have heard and I highly recommend it. It was done by the Colorado Symphony. One beautiful tuba solo in the second movement of the concerto.
