If you are considering performing on the F tuba and are fairly comfortable with treble clef, for REALLY fresh ideas look into the oboe literature. The range of the oboe is approximately 2 1/2 octaves, from Bb up to F [or G], and technically, the most challenging oboe music is very tough, but not impossible (as some violin and flute music might appear to be). Since the oboe is a non-transposing instrument, you can easily perform any of these works with piano. If you are going along with me on this, you do NOT need to restrict your auto-transcriptions to the baroque era, as would be the mindset of some.
