Ferree's band instrument repair supply company sells strips that are manufactured by 3M that help to prevent tarnish when placed with a silver-plated instrument in a case. Of course, the instrument has to be cleaned and polished first and the strips have to be changed frequently if the case is opened and closed on a regular basis. I had an old silver Conn euphonium that I didn't use too often and they worked pretty well. After several months, the instrument needed a light polishing with a silver polishing cloth. If don't recall the cost, but they were inexpensive. Ferree's has a web site (you'll have to search for it) and a really interesting catalog. Good luck!
