It was Callender, not Challanger: "Red Callender Speaks Low" George Sylverster Callender was a freelance jazz artist who played string bass with people like Erroll Garner and Lester Young. He also played in the studios in LA as a tubist. This was the first solo Jazz Tuba recording I know about.
