If he's interested at all in jazz, have him consider the Jamey Aebersold Summer Jazz Camp at the University of Louisville (Kentucky) from June 23rd - July 2. The trombone faculty include Conrad Herwig, John Fedchock, Rick Simerly, John Jackson, and Tim Coffman. I've gone before, and will be attending again this year. Everybody gets put in a combo with others of like ability (even beginners), and they get to work with all-start faculty for a few hours each day. The evening faculty concerts alone are worth the price of admission.
