Around 1970 the Danish brass band, where I played bassbone, took delivery of three bandmaster cornets from the SA factory. These cornets were considered the ultimate ones for brass band use back then.

The SA factory folded shortly after, and I met its production manager (or shop overseer) as a repairman in a private shop, when I took part in the European Championships for brass bands in Royal Albert Hall in 1978.

As I understood that man, the SA had its own designs on all instruments of the brass band. However he also told that some of these models were very problematic in intonation.

The SA also made some special designs. Denis Wick in his book tells of a very small bore contrabass trombone with two slides, one of the extending behind the back of the player. It was mirroring the front slide by means of some wire pulling system.
