Finland is not a Scandinavian country. Neither is Denmark for that matter: technically, Scandinavia is the name of the peninsula that Norway and Sweden sits on. However, because of the very strong cultural, social, linguistic etc etc links with the scandinavian countries, Denmark is usually counted in as part of Scandinavia too. Finland, on the other hand, have very few such links, apart from being geographically close, and sharing linguistic platform with the Lapps, who are a very small minority in northern Norway and Sweden.
