Yeah, I know those exist.
The second generation plastic (no metal part) seemed to me to be the perfect compromise between stopping the clicking noise (100% metal guides) and durability.
I really think even the flimsy first-generation (really bright white in color) guides would probably last a lifetime, if used by most folks on this board - rather than school kids using school-owned instruments.
