It's a tough call, when you start to look at things in detail. We buy oil from Equatorial Guinea, whose dictator lets his people starve while pocketing loot (not that the Saudis are any humanitarian bargain). We use tantalum capacitors in our cell phones and Gameboys--which comes from one primary source, the Republic of Congo. Thousands of innocent people have lost their lives over it. If you've been married for 20 or more years, where did the diamond in your wife's wedding ring come from? Apartheid South Africa?
The list just goes on and on. Given the huge trade for everyday things with China, the market for tubas is tiny indeed.
