Granting (which I do) that you hear a difference between the one AT-822 mid and the one Rode mic that you have used - we wtill have the problem of deciding if these two mics are representative of ALL others with the same model number stamped on them.
And...does your Rode mide have rotors or pistons? what's the bore? silver or lacquer?
Before making deprecating remarks about the bland taste that everyone else (typified by your X) has, it might be useful to quentify the difference that you are actually hearing, and making sure that everyone else is getting the same results.
Are you listening in BBb or CC?
