A miniature version of the current Willson top action compensating tuba, this instrument represents the smallest of what was once a line of three instruments aimed at the UK brass band world.
People who are familiar with Willson tubas know of the excellent craftsmanship, very solid design & build, thick gauge metal and superb intonation of their instruments.
Purchased in London, UK in April 2002, played professionally in the UK since then. I’ve got another Eb (Besson Sovereign) and don’t need two.
15-inch bell
large bore, more like an F tuba
three top action pistons, one for left hand (Besson UK Sovereign design)
silver plate 99% intact (four small un-plated marks on third valve slide where stays were re-soldered 2002)
excellent condition (the usual small dents in bottom main bow and valve knuckles)
excellent intonation and range due to compensating system
includes original wood shell hard case and Bach 18 mouthpiece
