OK, you've seen a pattern in these messages, and here's another agreement. I have recently begun learning Eb tuba. I am using it in one of the bands in which I play, while using BBb in the other. The one tool that has helped me get comfortable switching back and forth is scales. I know what all of the notes are on the horn, but practicing scales helps me use them in the music that I play. If everyone in the band pays attention for the 10 minutes of scales and actually plays them, the entire group can only benefit. Besides learning scales, this exercise can help everyone recognize notes or patterns where there are intination issues taht they should address while playing something else.
