Thanks, Jay. While tuba has been pretty much "just blow and the notes come out" horn has been very different and exceedingly frustrating. I'm going to give this methodology a reasonable time frame to see if it works for me (i.e., until orchestra season starts next September.) It's kind of a last gasp thing...I was ready to give up the instrument. You can only do so much on your own; and it's not like I haven't taken lessons either....about five different teachers here in town, and finally this one clicks. I guess I'm very grateful for that.
Now wait for my post after my _second_ lesson, at which I'll probably have a snit-fit and throw in the towel!
