If you could save for a while, I have heard many good things about the King (UMI) 2341 BB-Flat. With a King Hardshell Case even in silver or satin silver plate, they can be had in the $4K range brand new. I know it can be played in a wide range of playing situations and with good care would/could last you the rest of your life. Hope this may help.
