I had the same problem! As a former trombone player, I know. Yes, the high G on a euphonium is fingered 1 and 2. On a trombone it's a little different. It's actually positioned between 1st and 2nd position. And as you know, there is no valve fingering for that. It can also be played in 4th position which is the same as 1 and 2. It's just that the trombone is the only instrument that can be perfectly in tune. Hope this helps!
