Have you thought about playing James Grant's "Stuff"? It's unaccompanied and is a theme with seven variations in differing styles. Some are jazz and pop oriented, some are straight. You can even cut out some of the variations because of time or if you don't like them. The piece is available from Tuba Euph press.
