Knowing many creative classroom teachers, they are handcuffed and do have to force information down. They aren't teaching what they want to teach and doing it in a style that the students will be receptive to, they are simply teaching the answers to the next great standardized test.
Creative skills and problem solving are left behind in order to outscore the other schools in the district/state/region and get off of the "hit" list.
This is the number one problem students at technical colleges have - they can't problem solve. If the solution doesn't fall into the single way that have been taught to solve a problem based on drill and repitition, they can't figure it out.
