I presume you're referring to the "reverse contour" of the rim...that it doesn't have a sharp edge. That part is a matter of personal preference; I happen to like it, but you might not. I like it because it helps me to pucker more in my embouchure, which is one of my "faults" (that I do not enough.) The sharper rim would help with articulation, the "softer" rim will help more with slurring. As Mike below said, take some time to get used to it so you can make an informed decision.
