That Willson 3050 is a pretty big horn--if you're looking for something that can be played in large and small groups, then a 4/4 sized instrument should be on your short list.
Brass bands have bass parts that come in two keys--BBb and Eb--and the parts are very often quite different. The idea is that you use the same fingering no matter which instrument you play. The only thing written in concert pitch in a brass band is the bass trombone. See the link below for more details and samples.
