Any tuba/euphonium students aged 12-18 may want to consider applying to The Performing Arts Institute or "PAI" as we call it. We have openings for 2 euphoniums and 3 tubas this year.

PAI runs from June 27 through August 8. The festival is run in two 3-week sessions, so you can attend all 6 weeks or one of the 3-week sessions. Scholarship money is available.

PAI is a culturally diverse setting where wonderful music, theatre and dance are created daily. Brass students take part in weekly private lessons, rehearsals, concerts and recitals and daily masterclasses, rehearsals, theory classes and chorus. The main performing groups include symphony orchestra, wind ensemble, jazz ensemble, jazz combos and chamber music.

Recent symphony programs have included: Wagner's Meistersinger Prelude, Shostakovich's Fifth Symphony, Mussorgsky's Pictures at an Exhibition and Hindemith's Symphonic Metamorphosis to name a few. Recent wind ensemble programs have included Husa'a Music for Prague, Grainger's Lincolnshire Posy, Holst's Suite #1 for military band, etc.

Our faculty comes from international performing ensembles and prestigious universities. PAI's counselors are music majors from music schools all over the world. Our students have come from as far as Great Britain, Czechoslovakia and Japan!

Please check out our website at http://www.wyomingseminary.org/pai/about.htm to find out more about PAI!

Thanks!
