Congratulations on finding a really nice F-tuba, and thanks for bringing it by my booth so I could try it out, too. also, I don't think I'd bother to change the valve linkage, either. If it gets noisy- or loose enough to be annoying, any repairman who knows how to swedge and fit woodwind keys can tighten and quieten-down that linkage to where it will be like-new.
