There were two big old Holtons at Dave Fedderly's. One had been converted to CC and did not play as well in the low end as I would have liked. The other was in BBb but had a silver-plated CC valve section grafted onto it, with the slides pulled way out. The price tag was pretty high for a frankenstein tuba, but I really like the way it played. -Anybody know the story behind that tuba?
