It seems to me that Webster is sufficient:
style 2 a : a distinctive manner of expression
genre 1 : a category of artistic, musical, or literary composition characterized by a particular style, form, or content
Thus, genre describes the music, while style describes how you play the music. Thus, the sentence, "He plays within the Bach and Handel genre with a meticulously Baroque style".
